P2: POWER PACKED PRESENTATIONS 2 Influence the World: 'NOTHING-IS-FREE MARKETING'

Have you ever heard your 'friend' praise you in public when you are not around? Will your friend 'extol' you when he is put in a situation where you would directly get some 'financial' or 'business' advantage? The point is 'Nothing is Free'. Casual talks and gossips in which you are praised won't let you anywhere. The moment the topic becomes 'serious' or 'performance based', jealousy creeps in. Nobody wants to 'promote' others free of cost. Either they won't 'elevate' you or ask for their 'price'. All the 'Public Relations' (PR) and 'Brand Management' companies have thrived on the same principle: 'Nothing-Is-Free Marketing'. However, commoners like me can't hire such 'Expensive Brand Building Agents'. Thus, you are your first 'PR Agent'.

Whenever you meet those who are not members of your family or intimate friends, you should be 'careful'. Train yourself to market your 'achievements' and deeds. Immediately reject and ostracise those 'idiots' who don't respect or 'value' you. Get the dust off your victories. 'Polish' your 'success' and turn your defeat into A 'Different Success'. You also need an alert and conscious mind plus 'precise knowledge about the self'. Beware of your 'Anti-Marketeers'. Don't let them 'discount' your 'extra-ordinary hardwork' as an 'ordinary attempt'. Learn to gradually 'Highlight' your presence wherever you go. Tell them that your so-called failures have brought diversity to your life and extended the horizon of your beliefs and thoughts. Every silly encounter has played a vital role in your making. Tell them.

It is true that you prefer 'Truth', but keep in mind that you are not a 'criminal' and have equal right to 'Underline' your skills and give yourself an edge over others in this era of 'cut-throat competition'. Besides, being true and imbecile are two different things. Focus on 'Constructive Marketing' and not on 'Destructive Marketing'. Don't criticise your Teachers, Professors, Society or Government for your 'plight'. Take charge of your life and redefine your existence. Exhibit 'reciprocity' and try to build a 'rapport' with your listeners. 'Relationships' are no more personal elements. Smart Professionals maintain a network of 'like-minded people'. In today's 'highly interactive world' you need to have 'your men' in the 'right place'. Otherwise, you will find yourself 'caught among unguided strangers'.

To summarise: Success depends upon three essentials Hardwork, Luck and Presentation. The respective ratio of these ingredients is - 49:1:50. In simpler words, a successful person requires 1% Luck, 49% Labour, but 50% Presentation of whatever he has acquired through Luck and Labour. Now, you would agree that 'Self Marketing' is not as simple as it appears to be. It is a clever game of Comprehensive Strategy Application to achieve desired results. There is no Hard and Fast rule to attain the same. However, Self Marketing is certainly not resorting to illegal means or immoral ways. Also, it does not include Flattery or 'Impress Others At Any Cost' mindset. Remember that there is a very fine line between 'Licking' and 'Loving': You are not born to Please others. Start Promoting Yourself TODAY. Why wait...
