am a full-time reader. I love reading books. I can’t live without them.”
“Why do you read books? Can you live without food?”
“To
learn new things. To gain knowledge and I want to write a book.”
“What’s the use of such knowledge which can’t give you
the money and status you deserve? Your boss hardly touches a book, yet he
enjoys his life and 'controls' yours. You always wear spectacles and are surrounded
with more and more books every month. Don’t you think you deserve more
because you are wiser and a harder working person?”
“Right,
but I can’t give up reading books because…”
This was an
excerpt from a dialogue between the blogger and a die-hard book reader. It
highlights the confusion and dilemma within the minds of bookaholic-all-time readers. Nevertheless, such
people keep reading books in order to be called “intellectuals”. However, they don’t
mind if this intelligentsia is underpaid or slave (indirectly or loosely) to
the trading class!
The more you read, the more confused you are. In order to eradicate this confusion, you read further and further. You keep reading and reading. When you can’t remember or explain something that you have already read, you feel guilty. On the other hand, your masters, boss, leaders and ministers have a team comprising scores of people like you. These people compete with each other in terms of knowledge to “serve” their masters and be counted as the “best of the serving lot”. Contrarily, their “Masters” follow: “Ignorance is bliss,” “Copy and Paste” and “I’m not an Encyclopaedia”. So, Friends Stop Befooling Yourselves!

examinations to become a reputed and prestigious bureaucrat. Have you ever thought
how hard you work? Your salary is not proportionate to the countless hours of labour
you put in. It means you work too much, earn less and when you reach home you
want to read! Don’t be so cruel to yourself! Don't Punish Yourself. You can invest
this effort in enhancing your qualification and learning new skills. Give more
time to your family and socialize. Help your children in studies. Assist your
spouse in household chores.
You are actually supporting those who are “Pseudo Writers”. Besides being Enterpreneurs, these traders call themselves Educationist, Motivator and WRITER. They have become the Best Selling Writers. Remember, they are the best-selling writers, but not the ones who write the “Best Content”. They have become millionaires overnight. For them it is an auxiliary business activity. First you read one book and then you eagerly wait for the sequels! It is a kind of addiction, a Modern Addiction. Such people are actually pure Sales-Persons. They keep trying their luck in different fields to mint money. They may incarnate as Writers, Peer Coaches, Motivators, Entrepreneurs and What Not! [If you dig their Past out, you will find that most of them have been Liquor Barons, Land Mafia, Political Scions, Accused of Molestation and Failed Businessmen.]

you feel like a Scholar. However, both things happen only in your subconscious mind
irrespective of the outer world. Some enthusiastic readers say that they will
carry a particular book with them if exiled to some lonely planet and allowed
to have just one thing with them! Do they not need water and food? Some say it
is “Food for Soul or Thought” and so on. Such people wear glasses and further strain
their eyes by reading books while travelling or waiting for bus in the sun. It is time to
get rid of this addiction and unburden yourself from this self-imposed curriculum.
Practically speaking, "A CHANGED MAN CANNOT CHANGE THE WHOLE UNCHANGED WORLD". Don’t be a victim of this “New Industry” and “New Marketers”. For your kind information, many good writers are anonymous and underpaid. For them, Writing is the true service to the mankind and a medium to enlighten their souls. Their books have been sold to the junkmen because they have been on stands for long and covered with dust for years. Such true-writers often commit suicide or die in penury. How Strange: True-writers are not full time writers because they have to earn money to support their families. Now, we have an army of “Seasoned Writers” and “Best Selling Writers”. Nowadays, a publisher is not concerned about the “Content”; he is concerned only about the “Selling Prospects”. This new army of writers comes from all walks of life except the “writing field” itself! For example, model turned writer, actor and writer, entrepreneur and writer, motivator and writer … and so on.
Remember: You are not a Criminal. You have been a Good Student all your life. You have already proved your worth many times before in the past. There are many other Pending Duties seeking your attention. Discharge those first. Many people including your Wife and Children want to spend more time with you. You are obliged to pay heed to them. Instead of reading a book, listen to its Audio-Version and keep doing other stuffs without killing your precious time.

In nutshell, do anything else that will make your life better and happier. The point is to come out of this illusion and fake world. “One day …yes one day I will show everyone …” When will that “one day” come? Life is not a cinema, stop day-dreaming and be practical. Dream to enjoy your life and help those who are Helpless.
