What's Your 'Kahaani'?

   In Hindi, 'Kahaani' means a story. A writer is a master of his stories. He has the exclusive right to empower or weaken characters. He can create new characters and destroy the existing ones. He can do whatever he likes. Nobody can stop him. People love such 'customised' or 'predestined' characters. [Here 'He' and its forms represent both the genders in a normal sense. In general, the content here is about all (not specific to a particular gender).]

   In reality, life is just black and white, without any colour. This is true for most of us. We wake up, eat, work, earn and go to bed. We eat in order to work and vice versa. This cycle continues till one is in a position to do so. However, once you grow older and your body can't be controlled by you, you realise the transient nature of life. At last, you conclude that nothing matters and everything has to perish one day. Most of the people alive have already understood the fact that they are silly 'mortals'. Therefore, they strive to lead their version of life. They try to control their 'Kahaani'. This is actually the beginning of a bigger problem.

   Every writer thinks that he is a world class writer and just one opportunity will get him Pulitzer Prize. [I'm no exception.] Likewise, every person thinks that he is a great person and his way of thinking will change the world. [I'm no exception.] Some best-selling writers have admitted more than once that they were not sure about the content of their books. In the beginning, they tried to 'control' the content in order to 'target' a select group. However, it did not paid off. At last, they listened to their heart and wrote naturally without any control. They remained just a medium to express their story. The story and its characters decided the course of the story. They were not concerned about the 'target group' or 'money' or the 'best-selling' prospects. As usual the story became somewhat 'different' and 'unusual'; publishers summarily rejected their manuscripts and commented, "It won't sell. Try something which is in trend, else never approach us!" Then, these people got their books published on their own and did the marketing themselves. After a few uncertain months, the book catches the attention of the critics and they call it 'original' and 'natural' work. Ultimately, it tops the best-selling list!

[It is like a person denied a party ticket. In the end, he contests as an independent candidate and wins with a thumping majority. However, before the verdict, everybody estimated that he would lose and his security money would be forfeited.]

   Now, I won't beat around the bush and come to the point. The long and short of this write-up is to encourage you to accept your Natural roles. That is, even if an actor is not satisfied with the role offered to him, he should try his best to portray the role in hand. He should not quit Acting. He should try till he is not in a position to do as he wishes. Similarly, if your life is not as per your plans, continue with whatever you can do until you hit the jackpot! You can't 'control' life. One can only 'try' hard to push one's luck. Accept whatever befalls you and then strive to get what you want. NEVER QUIT TRYING.


   You may get something else of the same order or sometimes much better. There is nothing 'guaranteed' or 'fixed' in life. Such things exist only in dreams, fantasies and movies. NEVER STOP LIVING. START LIVING. LIFE IS A ONE-TIME OPPORTUNITY. Challenge your Challenges. If Life wants you to try 100 times, you must be ready to try at least 1000 times in order to become 'fortunate'. Sometimes Flexibility brings Fortune. Life is not a story that can be controlled; it can only be lived. LIFE IN ITSELF IS A BLESSING. Happy Living!
